Bessie Bayes, 96, of Ashland, died Monday, April 16, 2012, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
She was born June 25, 1915, in Johnson County, a daughter of the late Harry Blanton and Cora Salyor Blanton.
She was also preceded in death by husbands Theodore Stapleton and H.W.B. Bayes. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are a son, Paris Stapleton of Ashland; a daughter, Sarah Stapleton Jackson of Ashland; three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters Mint Spaulding of Ashland and Martha Souder of Delaware, Ohio; and a special niece, Goldie Boyd of Ashland.
A private service was Wednesday at Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland. Burial was in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
