Bette Henderson

June 3, 1918 — July 9, 2014

Bette Davis Greene Henderson, 96, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the Community Hospice Care Center.
She was born June 3, 1918, in Rush, KY, a daughter of the late Paynter and Martha French Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Vernon Greene and Orville Henderson; five brothers, James Davis, George C. Davis, Bill F. Davis, Hubert W. Davis and Jack W. Davis; and five sisters, Donna Davis, Sophia Mart, Pauline R. Fisher, Emma E. Ison and Helen Kinner; and her dear pet Buffy.
Bette was a graduate of Boyd County High School, and a member of East Fork United Methodist Church and Greenhill Eastern Star #567.
Survivors include two sisters in law, Alberta Davis and Elma Lou Davis of Rush; a step daughter, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014 at East Fork United Methodist Church with Pastor Richard Gindlesperger officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Friends may call from 6-8p.m. Friday, July 11, 2014 at Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel.
Flowers are welcomed but contributions may also be made to East Fork United Methodist Church, 20100 State Route 3, Rush, KY, 41168, or to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Avenue, Ashland, KY, 41101.
