Gregory Tackett - 1955-2008
Gregory Tackett, 52, of Boyd County, died tragically, Monday afternoon, in a tractor accident in Lawrence County, Ky.
Greg was born Nov. 23, 1955, in Pikeville, Ky., a son of Ola and Sarah Slone Tackett of Boyd County.
He was a former maintenance and melt shop employee with 28 years service at Kentucky Electric Steel. He was a member of the Laborers Local #1445 of Ashland, Ky., and was employed in the maintenance department at AK Steel. Greg was a Christian and loved the outdoors, hunting and gardening. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be sadly missed.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Paula Caudill Tackett; a son, Jason Tackett and wife, Jessica, of Lawrence County; a daughter, Amanda Bond and husband, Tommy, of Boyd County, Ky.; three grandchildren, Dylan and McKenzie Bond, and Jaycee Tackett, and one on the way; one brother, Ola Tackett Jr. and one sister, Debbie Tackett, both of Boyd County; and three nephews and a niece.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland by Brother Darrell Kidd and Brother Foster Akers. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Burial Park.
Visitation is tonight from 6 to 9 p.m.
